The Sweep Brothers
Bruce & Choppy
One of the toughest jobs we had to assign was that of the Sweep-up Runners. These guys had to wake up late, start their run an hour late, and jog along keeping track of where all remaining runners were on the course. We searched long and hard for just the right personalities to fill these positions. So when x-patriot South Africans Bruce & Choppy stepped up for the job, we felt really really lucky.... They both live is the US now and they really have taken to spending a long time in the woods.... together. But unlike life in Africa, it took a bit longer for them to see any wildlife... just about 8 hours and 40 minutes after their start...right there at the finish.... they saw a very rare sight for the Adirondacks....
