Alex and his training partner Ian stuck it out together for almost the entire run... almost.  The Wakely course is not as easy as it may seem on paper - its constantly undulating terrain and technical footing can foil the best of them. A minor ankle roll late in the run put Alex a few minutes behind Ian but he still broke the old course record.  Not bad for a first timer.
