Woke up at 3:00 AM in Glens Falls after sleeping surprising well. After a cauldron of oatmeal Brandon and I were on our way. In typical fashion we were about 1 hour early for race time allowing for ample time for more hydration and body glide application. Once we started running the first hour was pretty nice except for dodging a bit of blow down. The discussion was on the new Transformers movie and the Lake Placid Iron man taking place the next day. We lost some fellow runners at their first water stop around 2 hours in. We kept going at a nice pace until just past the ½ way point and filled up our water (100 oz for me 40 oz for Brandon, there’s a bit of a difference there!).  For the next 2 hours Brandon and I plugged and chugged passing a couple more runners. At about 6:30 we started to do some walking. Crossed the line under 7:00 and was happy with that.

As for the trail, the first half was definitely obstacle-filled however, not too treacherous. I took 1 fall and came out of that OK. The second half was certainly more run-able. We had no issues following the trail. Thanks for your efforts on the race, I had a blast.
